Paul Henry is a Senior Principal based in the Brisbane office and is responsible for Populous (formerly HOK Sport Venue Event)'s work in the Asia Pacific region. Paul is a leading expert on sports projects in Asia and has worked with all tiers of government and private consortia groups regarding the procurement and design of sports facilities. Most recently, Paul was the Project Principal and Designer of the Gold Coast stadium, in Queensland, Australia and he led the team for the Nanjing Sports Park for the China National games, 2005; the advisory work on the Beijing 2008 Olympics, and the redevelopment of Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
He led the Australian Populous team for ANZ Stadium (formerly Telstra Stadium and Stadium Australia) in Sydney, and the Telstra Dome in Melbourne. Paul was also responsible for the firm's operational planning and overlay work for the Sydney Olympic Games and was the overlay team Principal of the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane.
Paul is also an expert in racecourse design and has led the team redeveloping the Hong Kong Jockey Club Owners' facilities at Happy Valley Racecourse, as well as master plans and other work at Rose hill & Royal Randwick Racecourses in Sydney. Paul is a member of the UIA Sport and Leisure Group and an international speaker on sports design.
Paul has also undertaken a design review role on many international stadia for Populous.
